I know the last things you guys want to hear are more fees, but unfortunately, we are introducing surge fees at Azumi.
Before we started running our own delivery company, I always saw surge fees and said to myself, "These people just look for any means to add extra charges to their customers, couldn't be me." Well, here I am 😅
Surge fees are ones I have always been careful about. In fact, if we had a way of going about it without adding them, we would. But since we entered the raining season, it has become really hard to still keep on delivering at a consistently good quality because let's be honest, nobody wants to enter the rain, nobody likes to get wet.
So, here's what you need to know about our implementation of surge fees:
They are temporary: Completely dependent on what the current situation on ground is. Is the rain falling heavily or just drizzling? Is there a curfew, etc.?
It's capped at 500 Naira: No matter how bad it gets, you would never pay more than 500 Naira in surge fees.
They are only applied when extremely necessary: Trust me, this is going to be something you see very rarely. If I have to go under the rain to deliver for you just so you can avoid paying a surge fee, trust me, I will. But there are only so many people and deliveries I can make in a day by myself.
So, there you go fellas. We know it’s not the news anyone wanted to hear, but we hope you understand where we’re coming from
